Mo has been a committed member of the Customer Success team at Stages Cycling since 2022, where he combines his solid technical know-how with a real love for the sport and a background in competitive racing.
Mo's hands-on experience truly enhances customer interactions. He's taught power-based indoor cycling classes for over eight years using Stages Cycling indoor bikes, and this rich experience contributes to his troubleshooting tips and tech support advice comes from a genuine understanding of what riders go through.
On the bike, Mo has a strong background in mountain biking, having raced semi-professionally and traveled across the USA for all the NORBA national events. This racing experience adds to his coaching and leadership roles, which include being a USA Cycling Certified Elite Coach and a former member of the U.S. Masters World Championship Mountain Bike Team. Now he primarily races in gravel events.
Whether he’s helping a newbie rider or a seasoned pro, Mo aims to make sure every Stages Cycling customer has a smooth, effective, and enjoyable experience, backed by someone who truly gets the sport.
Nicklaus Shorten
Nicklaus has been with Stages Cycling since 2019, working across customer service, logistics, technical documentation, and operations; helping out wherever he’s needed. He’s someone who likes figuring things out and making sure riders have the info and support they need to get back out on the bike.
Nicklaus lives with Charcot-Marie-Tooth Disease, a neuromuscular condition. It’s given him a lot of patience and perspective, qualities that carry over naturally into the way he supports riders every day. Nick got his start with road bikes and fixed gears and still has a soft spot for it, but these days you’ll usually find him on gravel roads on one of his 26" vintage mountain bikes or up climbs at high elevation.
What kinds of bike rides do you enjoy the most? Gravel and long climbs, for sure. I love the peace, quiet, and challenge of higher elevations.
Favorite pre-ride meal: A burrito — usually eaten on the way to the group ride I’m running late for.
Favorite way to recover after a ride: A shower the temperature of lava and nap time.
I enjoy talking with riders of every kind. Everyone’s got their own take and experience on bikes, but underneath it all, we all love riding.

Stages Cycling Customer Support
Brie has been a customer support & inside sales rep with Stages Cycling since 2017, where she worked at both the Boulder office and with the former European distributor in Germany.
Prior to 2017, Brie was a World Tour professional road cyclist racing the international circuit. She is very passionate about cycling - most importantly helping our customers with the support & guidance that they need to use our products for recreation and training.
What kinds of bike rides do you enjoy the most? : I appreciate & enjoy all types of riding but these days I am really enjoying gravel riding and racing. There is nothing better than the freedom that a bike provides.
Favorite pre-ride meal: cortado & banana bread
Favorite way to recover after a ride or race: that answer is easy- a nice microbrew and burger along with a recovery swim.
Best Ride ever: racing the 2013 Giro Rosa (now the Giro d'Italia Women) with the USA National team in support of Boulder, CO - local, Mara Abott. Mara stayed in the pink leader's jersey (Maglia Rosa) the entire race. The stages were challenging and beautiful at the same time. As I was a domestique rider for this race, I got to enjoy the riding a bit after my job was done with the grupetto ;-)
I love a good challenge & am passionate about finding solutions to problems for our customers. I also enjoy coaching and teaching our customers how to use our products to best suit their fitness needs.

It’s a popular buzzword, and for good reason! Self-care is a crucial aspect of our overall health and well-being, and this is especially true for fitness instructors. As a fitness professional, you spend your day helping others improve their physical and mental health, but it is just as important for you to prioritize your own self-care. By taking better care of yourself, you can reduce stress and burnout, improve your performance and ability to inspire others, and model healthy behaviors for your clients.
Without data, it’s impossible to know how far you’ve come or if your workouts are effectively moving you toward your goals. But what's the best approach to analyzing your workouts, heart rate, or power?

We sat down with Sam, and his father, Tony Holness, to learn more about his iconic race and what might be next.
