NEW! The new Shimano Dura-Ace R9200 Dual Sided Power Meters are available now. The new Stages Power meters are compatible with Shimano’s latest 12-speed Dura-Ace 9200 cranksets and feature a new design.
Most Shimano cranks uses its Hollowtech II Bottom Bracket system. While we offer current model left crank options for Dura-Ace, Ultegra, and 105, additional component levels and many older groups are also compatible.
Shimano road cranks are interchangeable between other component levels that utilize the dual pinch bolt. Nearly all pinch-bolt style Shimano road cranks are able to be interchanged in equivalent lengths. Stages Power R right-side Shimano road power meters can also be used with any Hollowtech II compatible left crank arm.
A power meter is a device on a bicycle used to measure the power output of the rider. Stages Power meters are all crank-based and use strain gauges to measure the torque, or flex, in the crank arm. The torque data collected as well as cadence are used to calculate power, as displayed in watts, and used to determine the riders’ effort. All Stages Shimano Power meters are Stages Cycling's power meter technology based on a crank arm from Shimano.
Do I need to match the model number on my crank arm to the model number listed on the power meter?
For all DURA-ACE and Ultegra left-side crank arms, the model numbers are interchangeable within each model. For example, if you have a DURA-ACE 9100 left crank, you can purchase a DURA-ACE 9200 Stages Power left crank. This applies to left sided cranks only.
