How do I connect the Stages SB20 to Zwift?
At the minimum, your SB20 needs to be paired to Zwift as a Controllable in order to function correctly. For the best performance in Zwift, Stages recommends you pair the left power meter as Power source and Cadence in Zwift. More information and steps can be found here.
Can I use Erg mode with Zwift?
Yes! Once your SB20 is paired as noted above, you can enable Erg mode when beginning a workout. Erg mode may take up to 30 seconds to adjust for your cadence and align the resistance with your workout target. More information can be found here.
What is ERG mode?
ERG mode is a setting where a device controls the resistance of the bike based on a preset target (such as 150w). This mode can be utilized to maintain a consistent output with changes in cadence. It's most commonly used to perform a prescribed workout that calls for power targets for each interval. Using erg mode with Zwift eliminates the need to shift to find the target for each step and allows you to focus on complete the workout accurately.
What size riders will fit on the Stages SB20?
The Stages Bike is designed to fit riders from 4'10 to 6'10. To accommodate this range, the bike features 4 crank length options and a large range of adjustability for saddle and handlebar position.
How do I change gears on the SB20?
The Stages Bike features shift buttons located on the inside of both brake levers, as well as a secondary set of shift buttons in the drops of the handlebars. The two buttons by default will operate similar to a road bike, with the buttons on the left side working as larger shifts (big to little chainring) and the shifters on the right performing smaller gear changes. How much noise does the SB20 bike make?
The Stages Bike uses an enclosed belt-drive system, which produces almost no noise. Expect around 50-55 dB of ambient noise while you are riding the bike.
Can I change the handlebars?
The Stages Bike uses standard 31.8 clamp road handlebars. By using existing handlebar designs, all of the controls for the bike are removable and able to be installed on another set of drop handlebars. Any handlebars with a 31.8mm clamp can be used on the Stages bike. Optional shifter accessories can also be used to add shifters to aerobars or riser/flat handlebars.
To add shifters to accessory aero bars, purchase the accessory remote shifters.
To add shifters to riser or flat handlebars, purchase the mountain bike shifter.
